I am in the process of setting up my SW tank. I want to know if I am do it in
the right order.

Right now I have the sand(white castle play sand) and fresh water in the tank. I am waiting for it to clear a little bit before adding the Salt mix. Am I doing it right??

i mix my water and salt before i add it to the tank, but thats just how i do it. theres different ways, youll just have to get some more imput from others.

Its easier to pre-mix the salt water first, since it has to be circulating for abit in order to dissolve all the salt completly.

Adding the salt to the water before it goes in the tank is much easier, and really will be needed later when you do water changes. When I first set up my tank I did it much like you (because I was checking for leaks and didn't decide on the type of salt to use at that time) but it was a pain because it seemed to take a few days for the salinity to balance out and I had alot of adding more salt, taking water out, adding more salt, etc... if you get a big rubbermaid cotainer or something like that and mix the water in there, then just transfer the water from the container to the tank(when it is fully mixed and at the right sg).
