Just over a month ago now my Juwel T8 unit decided to go pop for the second time leaving my tank with only daylight through the window and red LED lighting at night.
During this time I lost my gorgeous pair of percs for no apparent reason, only to discover a few days ago that it was more than likely due to the pH crash that occurred due to the lack of proper lighting.
The pH has since been raised over a couple of days from the 7.2 it dropped to, back up the 8 it was at previously. Thank you Salifert for making quality, stable products.
I finally purchased a brand new Juwel T5 highlight unit last week, opting to get the tubes from a fishy friend who gave good discount, only to find that the standard T5 tubes do not fit the Juwel T5 units, as standard 3' T5's are 34" and the Juwel ones are 36".
I now have the correct length original Juwel T5 tubes, both 45 watt, one white & one blue. They and the new highlight unit, also with new reflectors, are installed and switched on.
I went for the Juwel replacement instead of arcadia luminaires to stop potential jumpers.
