I see reefscapes point, but you still have to do the cycling somewhere. In my last setup I did cycle off the live rock, but made sure levels of ammonia stayed down. Skim as hard as possible? I find it hard to believe you can preestablish nough bacteria to avoid getting a spike of nasty uncured liverock.
I guess precycling can't hurt though. Certainly the worst thing to do is just cure , and just sit it out with no skimming or water changes and let nature run it's course.
