Hi, I've got a 46g bow tank which I first setup as a FOWLR, about a month ago I got hit with an unknown disease that has left all of my fish dead. I'm letting the tank cycle now in hopes of killing off whatever it is that claimed all of my fish. While this is going through the process I've been setting up a 50g Reef Tank which I've been having great success with (knock on wood). I'm using mostly soft corals since the lighting I got is just PC.
I am now seriously considering switching my 46g tank over to also be a reef tank. I've got most of what I need (live rock, live sand, inverts) but I think my lighting would need upgraded as I would like to work with hard corals in this tank. I'm currently running a PC orbit but am looking at the 36" model of this type.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Tim

I'm very much in favor of MH. They are amazing--the difference to the corals is immediately noticable, and the contrast for just looking at the tank is impressive. Yep, a bit costlier, but I won't start another reef without one. I would make sure that the hood spreads that light out enough--the 46 is a 3 foot tank, I'm guessing? If so, you will be happy with the difference!

MH's. Im setting up my 90 as a reef and im going with MHs. Im even about to do MH over my 20L nano. Oceanencounters.com has the best prices i have found or you can DIY some for about $100.

Thanks for the replies, now to just figure out which light to go with. Stephenray75, is the website you mentioned the correct URL? I keep bringing up some website for diving?
