i have a new tank setup running with 4 damsels. the hydrometer i am using is reading 1.032 how do i lower this to the desired level of 1.022? thanks in advance

Holy cow! You shouldn't have put fish in there until the salinity was stable.

To lower the salinity, you need to remove water from the tank and replace it with fresh water. Go slowly, as sudden changes won't be good for the fish.

Have you been topping off with SW, or FW?

yes i understand that this is a crazy reading, i just got home from work and after adding more fw i got it back down to 1.026 alot better. thanks
