As per the title!!!... we collected the cabinet on Saturday, the glass is being delivered on Wednesday.. it's bigger than we originally thought as well which is good...

measures 130 cm long, 62 cm high, 60cm deep, built in sump which has four compartments and probably holds about 25 gallons....

plans are as follows:

deltec 600 skimmer to go into first compartment, probably have a filter sock and a bag of phosphate remover??

second two compartments we wanted a deep sand bed 3/4 inches or miracle mud, probably have LR for pods and some algae, last section is the return.

Does anyone use miracle mud? if so how do you get on with it?

I will post pictures of the sump etc later as I have a question about that as well and it's better of course with pictures...

So a new Log will be underway very soon....:)

I just installed a 5 gal HOB fuge.

I found Fiji Mud Refugium Booster, this is live very sticky & wet. I spread that 24 oz container over the bottom of the fuge then added 2-3 inch layer of Caribsea Mineral Mud Refugium substraite(dry mix), then added some live sugar fine sand from my main tank about 1/2 inch on the top. It has been two weeks and everything seems to be great, lots of pods snails etc... Just be careful it will really cloud your main tank so I would let it settle for a good long time before pumping into your system. I hope this helps?

Cool can't wait to see pictures :)

I'd also be interested in what folks have to say about fuge mud. I know it dumps a lot of good minerals into the water, but you also have to replace naturally dissolved or dissipated mud over time.

The Mineral mud Booster I used stated that you can also disolve a small amount (something like 1 tablespoon/ 50 gallons)in some tank water and pour it back into the tank as a suppliment? Has anyone ever tried that?
