Im thinking of buying a 125 or 150gal and i just wanted to see what you guys think of my idea for setup and stock...

2 rena filster xp3 canister filters

is that enough filtration for those size tanks?

Fish stock

1 flowerhorn
1 jd
3 convicts
1 red devi

i have this fish already and i want to move them to a bigger tank before things get to cramped...

Would i be able to add any more fish to the bigger tank?

thanks for your time
ron

ps be gentle im still a newbie lol

Problem is with 3 cons, I expect them to pair and spawn. These are quite eager to breed and are quite problematic when they spawn terrorizing other tankmates.

Well it is a 125-150 gallon even if they do take over half there is still going to be alot of space left.

Hi,
Years and years ago, when i started out with cichlids i had not a clue.. I Bought a female convict as she was so colourfuland put her in a community tank with large gouramis , neons, cories and plecs .. But i read a bit and a amte of mine wanted my large pairing gouramis and swapped me a pair of convicts as he thought.. I moved all three cons to a different cycled 3 foot tank..
After inspecting the two new convicts 3 times the size of my female were both males. Afer a week one male and the female dissappeared.. Could not find them.. But the male theat was left just hovered around a stone cave all the time and never moved far..
One morning i awoke to see a haze inthe tank, with the missing female and male at the front of the haze and the other male at the rear.. On inspection, there were hundreds of newly hatched fry. The three convicts lived peacefully and had many clutches but only one male ever mated,, the other was just the body guard.. Just thought i would share..

if thats the case i guess it would be bettter to move the convicts into there own 30 gallon long tank...

With the cons moved out i would like to add a green terror into the tank with my other cichlids so it would be

1 jd
1 flowerforn
1 red devil
1 green terror
1 cichlid that i dont know what he is(i got him off an idiot that was going to just flush him down the toilet...

I know they all can be very aggressive but i think even as adults i think there is enough room for them to live somewhat peacefully...What do you think???

Also do think I will have enought filtration with 2 xp3 canister filters??

thanks for your time
Ron
