Just set up a 30 gallon tank today. I was wondering if I can add plants to it? Has plant substrate and gravel over it. I won't be adding any fish until it's cycled but I wasn't sure about plants.

Thank you for your quick posts. I am going to add some tonight. I still need to go to the river and get some nice river rocks and maybe find some driftwood. The tank is going to house swordtails and cories. I am going to pick up some water sprite tonight from botia so I will probably add it to the tank.
yea, what is your light >??? if you only have the strip , IDK ~~~ have you already upgraded your lighting ? tell us your light and we can tell ya what kind of plants will work well . hard to really tell you without wpg (watts per gallon )
I believe the standard strip for 30 gallons (AGA's at least) is 20 watts. A little on the low side, but I did fine growing java fern, cryptocorynes, anacharis, vallisneria and anubias under that same lighting.
