new tank setup

The only thing to remember when you keep adding live rock bit by bit is the potential for mini-cycles everytime you put some in, so make sure you keep an eye on your tank parameters..

on lights, you do need to know the limits of the existing lighting..Probably get 1 marine white and 1 marine blue...

If you want to be keeping hard corals in the future, then i would suggest researching metal halide lamps...

As i said before, if its just fish only with live rock, your lighting is ok + the actinic..

salt cost

Hi there.. another UKer:hi:

Just a quick note, we've had our 190ltr tank up and running for over a month now and even with initial start up to now the salt didn't cost us £50..

We initally bought a 4kg box and are using roughly 2kg salt per 20% water change... thought it would be less than that. but depends on your tanks SG at the time... bigger box you buy the cheaper though of course.

Have fun with your new venture...
