Me and my girlfriend would like to put only unusual fish in our new tank, ive just started doing my homework on water requirements, a little on compatability, and foods etc. We would like predatory meat eaters live food eaters. We want the group of fish to all eat similar foods so theres less waste for the filter to deal with. Heres a list of possibles, ones wed like. Havnt done much on compatability yet, i think u pple will save me some time. ....A few clown loach not odd i know, A couple of tin foils or silver dollars. A bristlenose pleco. A couple of candy striped gobys. A silver shark. A few parrot fish. A small cream colured gar 5 inches unknown. A dwarf puffer grlfnd wants one? And maybe eventually a silver or pearl arrowana 6 inches. We dont want wars in the tank we want it peaceful. Any comments info on thisd list of possibles. ps I already know about arrowanas, we know that any fish small enuff will be eaten. thanks.

You probably want to stay away from the dwarf puffer and candy stripe gobys. They are pretty peaceful fish and will get beat up by most of your other inhabitants. You dont want to house an arowana with any of these fish until the fish are massive and full grown in size. Arowana are extremely aggressive and grow very large. Im not sure but the thread was titled "trigon 190" if you are reffering to a tank that is 190 gallons you will have a pretty good sized tank to house your pet arowana in. You might also want to check out a fire eel or something of the sort. You might want to stay away from the gar... they can be a little aggressive also and grow huge. You could also look at maybe keeping a bichir. If tank size allows you

What kind of "silver shark"? Do you know what other names it goes by? I think that is often a iridescent shark, and they would not do well in that setup. Even if it was a 190g tank, they still get way too big even for that big of tank and like to be kept in groups. What about a ghost knife fish? I'm not sure about compatibility though, but they are very cool fish. Also, butterfly fish are pretty neat, again, not sure about compatibilty though :o

I agree about not adding the dwarf puffer to that setup, but if you really wanted one, I think they can be kept in very small planted tanks (like 5+ gallons) pretty happily!!
