I just got a brand new Clear-For-Life 100G Mezzo tank. It is a half round acrylic tank.. long story short.. it was shipped to my work 2 years ago but was not what was ordered.. they ordered a 60G rectangle and this was delivered. A call was made to get the correct tank and return this one but the Mfg said they did not want the half round tank back.. that we could keep it. Well, they had no use for it at work and it sat it Shipping and Receiving for 2 years.. finally today was clean out day for all the unclaimed stuff.. the aquarium, which goes for $1500, was going to be thrown in the dumpster because no one wanted it and it was taking up too much room for too long. It was still sealed in plastic, cardboard, and bubble wrap when I got it. So here it is...

Tank is 48" long, 24" deep at the deepest point, and 24" tall.

My question is what to do with it.. I am kind of leaning towards a FW planted but may do a FOWLR. I already have my expensive reef tank and don't really want, nor could afford, to turn this tank into a full reef as well. Any suggestions? :)

Having forgotten or having outdated information about FW I would be a complete noob again. No idea about fish.. just know I don't want aggressive (Oscars). I have always liked Discus but they are pretty large. FW angels all look the same to me and I have heard they can be quite mean at times. Ideally if I went FW planted I would like a lot of small community fish and shrimp.

Another thought for the tank.. a Seahorse tank? I have always wanted a seahorse tank but because they are pretty much a species only type of tank and need specific items and flow I never wanted to dedicate my one main tank to just one thing. Now that I have an extra tank it is now an option.. or even an octopus.. my only problem with both is their short lifespan.

LOL.. that is a little overkill for a Mantis don't you think? I have a 29G also that is up and running for many months but has nothing in it.. not even sand or rocks, just water and equipment. I could make that a mantis tank if I wanted.. but even that is a waste of space. Most mantis tanks I see are around 10-12G. Still.. cool to look at, not sure I could live with the noise they make long term though.. a pistol shrimp was almost more than I could handle.
