New to all things fish

Welcome! I hope you have a great time here. We'll look forward to seeing some of your fish animations!

Welcome! I have to agree with the others who said that 1 gallon is just too small for a betta. This issue comes up a lot on this site, but if you search some old threads, you'll see there's a pretty big consensus on that here.
But don't be disappointed--because shrimp are awesome!
They're really fun to watch.
And sometimes they crawl on your hand :)
A little planted, landscaped mini-tank, with shrimp and snails, would be a great thing to have in your dorm.

Welcome to AC! Which school do you go to for animation? I am an alumni of University of the Arts in Philly :)

I go to Edinboro University of PA. And that's really neat! What did you major in?

haha, thanks, and yeah, it might be a few months, but I'll definitely post some links when I get some tests done.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinkin' I'm gonna have to get, and yeah, I already think that shrimp and snails are kickin'! So I may just go with that. I'll just have to see how things go, I'm gonna try and make room for a larger tank, but who knows how things'll go.

ah, neat, I'll have to think about that. (there's also finding a way down there. XD) but thanks for the offer! I will keep it in mind.

What kind of snails by the way?

Ah that's so neat! I've always wondered what it'd be like to work in sculpture.
At the moment I'm taking a sculpture one class and we're learning about wood joints(but hopefully, within time, I hope to have tried most materials)
Do you have a gallery or site by any chance?

The first thing you need to do is upsize your tank. The water quality and temperature in 1 gallon tank are so unstable that you are going to have a hard time keeping anything healthy. I think that a 10 gallon is the minimum for having much success with an aquarium.
