New to Canister Filters

a penguin bio-wheel fit as well as a top fin HOB.

I would measure the width of the stepped rim and go to the store and verify before purchase.

i also need to add that mine barely fits and if anything, isnt fit on properly, i checked it just then but it has been working ok for the past 5 months.

Somebody posted the link to the video on how to assemble one. The Brit version by Tetra tec. I have one coming this week.

Ya i saw that, thats what kind of sparked my intrest, i would just like to accually touch one before i buy it...they are a little more expensive than the mag's we currently have.....

It looks to me like they have just updated to get more in line with the look of todays canisters and features. I was going thru the new pet solutions catalog and it is amazing how similar the canisters are on shape and features. Kinda of like they just are finally getting into looks.

Personally, I hope they don't end up dropping the old style.

I personaly like the clear canister on the mag's, it allows easy viewing of the fillter media...

In case you haven't checked, I got a heck of a deal on an xP3 at Petsmart. I like it. I don't know what I'll do with the six media bays. I have one empty right now.

filter mesh
biostars
carbon
2 medium sponges
2 rough sponges

Any thoughts?
