feel free to call me at my number (my screen name) anytime with your fish questions. i am a professional service man. i have been doing this for a long time. mike the fish guy. :)

Well, instead of calling, about if I ask a question here? I am going to have my fish tank professionaly moved in 13 days. The lfs charges $50 for the first hr. and $25 for every 1/2hr. after. My question is: what can I do to facilitate the move before he gets here?
You can't imagine the stress I am under. I don't care about the rest of the move, only the tank is a major stress factor.

how large is the tank? How long do you think the move will take?(approx $)What are you mst concerened about moving? one thing don't feed your fish for at least 24hrs before the move this will cut down on waste produced when they are in bags or other containers.

don't worry about doing much. just try to gather up all your stuff that is around the tank and make sure he has plenty of room to work. sit back and let them do the job. it is not a hard job just a messy one.

It's a 55 with app. 90lbs. of lr. Maybe 3 to 4in. ls. The only equipment I have on it is 2 phs, a heater and a skimmer. I also have 6 fish, 1 pepp. shrimp, 1 cleaner shrimp, 2 big mushrooms and I don't have any idea about the snail population.

Not feeding the fish sounds like a good idea. I think.
I am guesstimating the move should take up to 2 hrs. The tank has to go up a flight of 8 stairs.

I just need the tank move over. I don't care about the rest of my stuff. That's putting it mildly. The furniture I have already replaced. I bought all new furniture. Right down to the dining room table to a new headboard for my bed. I have already spent thousands in deposits plus new furniture but I know that I will not get over the stress until my little bare-bones fowlr is in it's new safe place. Weird I know but that's the way it is.
