I want to start a planted tank and i was wondering where to start. I have a 10 gallon tank that i dont really use right now but i want to make it into a planted tank. I was just wondering what all i would need to make it a planted tank like what lighting i would need and what plants would go well. I wanted to make it a low-med light tank. So if anyone could just help me pick out lighting, substraight, and some plants to try. And also do i need to get the water cycle going in the tank with some fish or will the plants do fine in just normal water??

Ok so ive planned everything out for my tank and ordered most of the components. Here is what i have ordered or have so far:
-Tank
-Orbit 20" 2-Lamp 40watt 24-hour Lighting System (Just won on eBay)
-20 gallon HOB filter
-20# bag of eco complete
-Hagen Co2 system
Will i need any other substrates or should i be fine with just the eco complete?

Looks like you have everything you need to start it up, except a heater. The Eco alone will do just fine.
