I plan to get a 10 lb cylinder for my 29 gal tank but not sure what to do when it's time for a refill. With the co2 supply so drastically interupted, I worry about causing an algae bloom. Would simply turning off the lights be enough? Not anxious to buy a second cylinder to fill in while the 10 lb is refilled.

as long as your not a week between refills you should be ok. and if you want to be careful you can turn off the lights, but i found i was fine if i ran out of CO2 and couldn't refill till a couple of days later.

keeping the lights off isnt a bad idea. the only time the plants need co2 is when the lights are on.

+1 what everyone else says! plus that 10 pounder should last you a year!
