i want to put a small saltwater tank in my room, no more than 5 gallons. ive never done salt before, but i like to believe im experienced in fw. i have 4 fw tanks from 10-55 and a vivarium with some really cool fire bellied toads =)

if someone could tell me what is the smallest size that i could have, id really appreciate it. i plan on doing live rock with one/a few small fish and cleaners. of course, my first choice was a clown, but im pretty sure for the size i want, there wont be enough room for one of those.

i really dont know much about salt, so ANY help would be great!
substrate, lighting, filter/no filter, powerheads, heating/cooling, RO/DI, addtives, anything would be great. thanks!

Probably, not the best idea for a first s.w. tank. That would class as a pico tank and wuold be pretty hard to keep stable. The only fish you'd be able to put in there would be one of the smaller gobies like a neon ,"not even sure I'd do that." You could manage some inverts and some live rock but, again I'm not really sure that I'd try something like that as a first set up it'll be a lot of work.
