A wise decision on the whole and I applaud you for that.:) If you like tropical species, of course, you have the option to try small species of plecos, rasboras, tetras, danios, barbs, pencilfish, hatchetfish, hara haras, corydoras and some small species of cichlids. Let us know which ones you prefer.

There is a site that lets you search according to characterisitcs of fish maximum size being on of the options. But I am not sure I can find it again. And even then I would run ideas through this forum before going through with it. This forum helped me with my tiger babr tank, as well as my angelfish tank. They both are doing great, and look awesome. Well minus my inability to decorate nicely:)

Welcome to AC. I saw the pic you posted and thought shoot hes got 2 ID sharks and they will get huge. Since I've joined the people here have helped me out alot. When you go to a LFS and see a fish you like ask for the
Scientific name and that will help you find out what type of fish it is when you do a web serch. I personaly like south american/cantral american cichlids. heres a pic of one of mine its a jack dempsey

i had tiger barbs but ionno didnt like them to much and i had mollys before too.. and the food i fed the was micro waffers the barbs and the mollys both seemed to like them so im thinking is that food good for other tropical fish...???

Take a look in the Gallery section and look at past tanks of the month posts. There are some gorgeous and varied tanks. As far as feeding, variety and knowing what each fish needs is the key.

Here's one of mine... There are many that make mine look weak and make me envious though.

Cichlids are very cool. I only have a few and stick to plant friendly, smaller, community type. I currently have Gold Rams, Triple Red Cacs, and a Festivum (which may be my favorite single fish). I've had Angels in the past and they are very cool too. The main things to watch out for will be their adult size, temperament, and if they are compatible with plants. The Cichlid forum here has alot of very experienced people that can lead you in the right direction. Maybe check out Aquabid and post about those that interest you.
