New two small discus never eat from 5 days

my discus fishes use a every small quantity of dry blood worms only they never eat any thing else ( i maintained my water temp at 86 F and change 30% water every second day) i try flakes, fresh piece of beef heart ...

Sounds like you are trying as best you can but you did make a mistake in getting discus for a 30 gallon tank. You should consider getting a larger tank and make sure you keep up on the tank maintenence.

Wow...

4 discus in a 30 gal tank is not a good plan, especially if there is a large pair, and 2 smaller fish. As stated before discus should be kept in groups of 5 or more... and they should be in at least a 75 gal tank.

Not sure what else to say that hasnt already been said.

people really disappointing me actually my problem is i cant have big tank, i read minimum requirement for discus is 30 gal and my fishes are small enough small pair is not above 2 inches and big one is 3 inches i never want to overload my tank just want to take them healthy and can i have some Cardinal Tetra with them in this tank??

NO. You may ABSOLUTELY not add more fish to this tank! Just because the discus are small now, do you think they will never grow? Keeping them in a tank that small will stunt their growth and is very, very cruel.

We all gave our advice. You are choosing not to take it. If you cannot have a bigger tank, 55 gallons at least, then your discus will never be healthy. We are not saying these things to "dissapoint" you, but because we don't want to see your fish die. You are choosing not to listen, and there is nothing we can do about that. Best of luck to you, but I fear that the worst will happen.

Amen

Agreed. Where did you read that 30 gallons is okay for a discus tank? Whatever site that was, its a horrible source. Please listen to the people on this site, they know what they are talking about.

Discus are large-bodied fish. Imagine how crowded it would be if 4 dinner sized plates where swimming around your 30 gallon tank. I hate to be so blunt, but I guarantee you discus will not live a healty life.

Please return the discus and do more research on the potential fish you want. The members of AC are here to help answer any questions you have. Its a great resource!

Dude, if your upset that you cant' get a bigger tank than a 35G, if it makes you feel better, I can only have a 10G as of now (possible future upgrade). I know what your going through, so don't get mad at anyone. I absolutely love Angelfish and Discus. And Im bummed that I can't keep them. If you really like the Angels, I'd choose those since I'd rather not kill the fish. Angels would be better suited in your tank. The point of keeping the fish is to keep them alive and I think you want them to stay alive.

If someone already told you to return the Discus since your overstocked, why would you wanna add more Cardinal Tetras. Also, discus will grow much bigger than Angels and will definitely eat your Cardinals.

Don't get so upset, just think about what their trying to tell you. I went through the same thing and knew that my point of keeping wish was to keep them alive and healthy. Which won't work if they're stunted.

Good luck.

Hmmmm oooh God help me, ok i never add any think in my tank and just grow up my 4 small discus in this small tank for one year and after that i arrange a big one tank for them...
