Hi! thanks for stopping in just got the updates...
out of all the systems, the bog terrarium globe is the most productive and least work. in years and years I have done no water changes only topoffs with distilled water, and occasionally a shot of dechlor tap to keep salts in balance (this creates a very low alkalinity/soft water environ without complicated dosers). once every 5 mos or so I drip in a few drops liquid fertilizer maybe some leaf bright nothing special. I toss in flake food for the wild type guppy population a couple times a month, its not heated in the winter and temps in the 60s not uncommon, yet no harm becomes of the plants or fish. it is the closest I have ever been able to replicate a truly long term self sufficient ecosystem, all others took work.
