Hello, I have a 125 gal. freshwater aquarium with 2 Rena xp3 filters and 2 300w heaters. The current lighting is just the 72" light that came with the tank. It has 2 36" 30w bulbs in it. I have had this tank running for close to a year and a half with not really any major problems.
My confusion and problems are I had a guest at my home and said I needed lots more light. He suggested I get a different light set up like a pc or mh with lots more wattage.
Finally my question, are my lights not enough for my tank? Will I benefit that much from a different light setup? I have had the same fish for over a year with no problems?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

and if you do get plants then i would say get the T-5 High output duel bulb setup, its the best

Nah, fish don't care too much. So long as they can see their food, and they have some darkness at night, they're happy.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. All you will get with more light in a non planted tank is more algae. Your fish are just fine with the set up that came with your tank.

You may want to just change the bulbs, they tend to get dimmer before they actually burn out. If you're happy with the amount of light, the way your fish look & don't have plants don't bother with a new set up.
