Hey guys iam pretty new here, although I have been viewing the website/forums as a guest for a few weeks now, looks very informative and like a strong community, anyways Iam fairly new to the whole fishtank thing also, I have had my tank for about 8 months now its a 29 gallon with a penguin 170 biowheel, powerhead, with 6 gouramis, 3 bala sharks, 1 pleco, and today I just added an angel fish and a Crayfish, which is very cool I sat there watching him for 1/2 hour after I droped him I also have recently started to try growing live plants in my tank, I have got one normal flourcent that came with the tank Iam not sure what spectrum or what kinda bulb it is, and I added a power-glo bulb that the store recomended for plants and fresh water aquariums, so far I have got 2 sagittaria, 1 anubias and 2 banana plants, they are all doing pretty well so far except for the banana plants, the banana parts of them have gone all darkish brown although the leaves are still growing and are green, anyways just introducing myself and my tank.

oh ya I also have a 10 gallon tank that is not currently being used although I would like to set it up again.

Welcome. Your tank sounds pretty cool. Just as a warning, you are probably going to get criticized for keeping balas in a 29 gallon. I'm not going to chew you out on it (because I have made my share of fishy indiscretions), but just to let you know if you didn't already, they are going to get pretty big. Most places reccommend at least a 70 gallon for them I think.

oh ya, how long will it take for them to outgrow my tank, Iam sure I will trade them in if they get to big, or by that time I may very well upgrade my tank or just start a bigger one, right now there around 2 inches long, and they haven't really grown to noticable in the 3 months or so that they have been in the tank.
