11 hour photo period is a long time. Plants really only need about 6. I would cut your photo period down to 8 hours and see how that works.

Excel is a carbohydrate that can take the place of CO2. It works really well in smaller tanks but you have to use a lot if you use it in larger tanks so it's not really cost effective. It also can help kill algae.

i realize green water is a little different and you either have to try a blackout or us a uv filter to get rid of it.

if you want to get rid of the green algae then i think you need to do a 3 day blackout first.

Afterworlds i would suggest dosing your tank with excel instead of DIY co2.

Nope... they may get a little floppy, but they'll be fine.

Okay.. I am really worried they will die but okay. Do i like tape black paper around the glass and not turn the lights in for three days? Do i need to do water cahnges before and after?

Actually you want to cover the tank so that no light can enter it. Your plants will be fine. Or keep it in a room with no light what so ever.
