I used to keep him in a 10 gal before I moved away to school. Here he is:

I must say, I do believe he enjoys the 2.5 more then the 10. He is always building bubblenests here in the 2.5 which he never did in the 10. He also seems more ''affectionate'' as everytime I come up to the tank, he gets all excited and does tricks for me, ie flaring his fins, jumping out of the water, and being all cute following around my finger. he never did any of that in the 10, I think he was overwhealmed with all of the space and current in that tank.

I agree the tank in the link is probably perfect IMO for him. The only thing I would have you check is the filter equipment and if it doesn't have a flow control find away to keep the water movement to minimum as Betta's prefer slow to almost motionless water. You can use Decorations to create areas that are very calm and will notice he spends alot of time there. Other than that Great response posts and Kudos to you for taking the time and care to find him a good home.

Here are some rules of bettas just in case: Never keep them with same colored fish, fin nippers, and fancy fins. Some bettas are nice and and some aren't.

Bettas like a warmer temperature from 79 to the mid 80s. A hotter temperature can also mean a shorter lifespan from aging quicker, so I would reccomend a temperature of 79-80.

Looks like I need to up the temperature on my betta tank, thanks for this. I think I have it around 76F at the moment.
