Newbie Daily Tank Log...Expert Feedback Requested

Whenever doing a water change with tap water that is treated, use a conditioner that removes chlorine and chloramine.

Tested Only Ammonia results read 0ppm

P.S do i add stress coat/ammo-lock to the water before i add it to the tank or while its already in the tank?

I ask because i ordered Python in order to fill the tank and i would have no idea how to add stress coat before putting water in the tank

Don't use ammo-lock at all. Use a water conditioner/chlorine remover only. Most on here recomend Prime.

Did not change water because waiting for a response to my question "do i add stress coat/ammo-lock/prime to the water before i add it to the tank or while its already in the tank?

I ask cause i bought a python i wouldnt know how to add it before i put water in tank

I add it straight to the tank, for the volume of the tank, then refill.

I have to leave now for my hockey game but when i return I will post pictures of the tank....

I have 2 questions though:

1) Im going to do my first water change tonight (20%) now this is a 46 gallon tank, how much prime should I add to the tank after the new water has been placed it it.

2) My father is a painting contractor and in one of his newly vacant building his found an old fish tank with plants (plastic) and I was wondering if I use these plants will it speed up the cycle or harm the fish?

No the plants will not help.

One thing i dont understand is prime says it removed Chlrine, Chloramine, Ammonia etc and Detoxifies Nitrite & Nitrate etc why would i use this during 20% water change if i want the tank to spike for a cycle?
