Mechanical filtration is usually accomplished by a filter sock and then you can just toss a sock of carbon in the reservoir for Chen filtration.

Absolutely. I did a lot of researching on this about a month ago. Definitely gonna build a couple as I get the money for pumps and parts

Yea, the prebuilt seem really expensive but it looks like the DIY would be a lot cheaper.

Much cheaper and using a fish tank keeps the clear look. Hell it sits under the tank so you can use whatever works.
