The Advice to Newbies link in my signature includes a shopping list that might help. I'd not put 2 clowns in a 10g nor would I put an anemone in there.
I am debating on whether to do the 10 gallon tank for my office or just use an existing 20 gallon long tank I have and find a place to set it up at home or maybe both.
I understand the rule of thumb for heating requirements and amount of live rock.
Is there a rule of thumb for the amount of substrate? Is it the same as LR, about a pound per gallon? I used that same rule of thumb for gravel in a freshwater setup I had.
With the LR I understand that it is a 'natural' filter but is it enough or would I need a very basic HOB filter? Or would the LR and a 'clean up crew' be sufficient enough?
