ok shoot me

i did loads of research before i bought tank and since i set it up

i used cycle and aquasafe am running a fluval 4 filter

i tested water daily actually had a small ammonia spike three days in

lfs advised me to actually feed the cycle additive

tested water before putting fish in 10 days down the lane and ammonia was at 0 as was nitrAte but had a slightly higher nitrIte

i have a 32 g if you allow for extras

anyway added 10 neon tetras on saturday

and they are a beautiful colour are schooling beautifully and feeding nicely

question is that i am still getting the same readings is this normal

i am actually going to go get some of my mums gravel to aid the filter

when should i do a water change other than in a week

should i wait for an ammonia reading above zero

lfs says i need to take water readings before they will sell me any new fish

so i think they seem quite ok also they were happy to give me advice when i didnt get the tank set up from them

thanks in advance
