I got this pleco from my brother when he decided to quit his tank. It has always been fed algea waffers. Now that I have him I would like to feed it fresh veggies. I have a common pleco, The kind that you find at any generic pet store or walmart. I was thinking of zuccini, or cucumber. Has anyone had any success with these veggies? Or should I consider something more like romain, or spinach? Or all of the above?

Since he has always has algae wafers it may take him a bit to discover what thses delicious things are you are putting in his tank. Give him a bit to discover them if he doesn't right away, be sure to keep fresh in for him.
Also give him some wood to rasp on, plecos need that for their diet too.

You can feed him zucchini, cucumber, spinach, romaine lettuce, potatoes, peas, sweet potatoes, iceberg lettuce, broccoli stems etc. he may not like all of these and it may take some time to determine what he will we since he has only eaten algae wafers.
