Newbie Question

I'm still researching and learning, but I have a question and I'd like to hear from experience.

Who actually uses substrate heaters? I'm thinking I could get by without them since I live in Florida, and all my reef tanks average 78 degrees. However, if they are a huge benefit I have no reason not to use them. I just have a feeling they are nice to have but not neccessary.

Agree with Tempest.....under gravel heaters are not necessary, especially where you live.

I didn't think so..... but really wanted to make sure. I hadn't tried pricing them, I may not have been able to find them...

www.petsolutions.com has them but the price is way out there. 150.00 for a 100 watts.

WOW! Who would have thought it was so much. I'd rather spend that on lighting or livestock.
