i put some water sprite floating in my 65 gallon tank about 3 days ago but they are looking really dead and they have no color. i'm guessing my lighting is the problem. i got a single 24" 20 watt bulb i think. i got this bulb from home depot. can u guys recommend a bulb that's not too expensive. i'm not really a big plant guy the water sprite was going in with my piranhas. are there any other floating plants that are low light?

If you just want a floating plant then duckweed is nice. It will make a carpet of green on the top of the tank. Water Sprite normally does well floating and being that close to the bulb I would have thought would be okay. You don't really need a special bulb. Home Depot bulbs are fine, just make sure to get a daylight bulbs. The whiter the light the better it is. Look for a bulb that is as close to 6500K as possible.
