I want to start a saltwater aquarium but don't know what setup should I do. What is the best setup for a beginner, fish only? I also read that I should also get live rock for a fish only set up, not necessary but will be beneficial. Does having live rock require special lighting? Also I have a 100 gallon tank (someone gave it to me that have all the necessary equipment for saltwater, even a bunch of dead rocks). I am looking to stock a couple of clown fish and some tangs. Also, is there any other sites or books I can get to learn more? Any help is greatly appreciated.

hey welcome to the saltwater keeping! i love it and what u need to decide is if you ever want corals and go fro there. it would be easier to start fish only but then get corals after that so ud want to get the right light for corals later instead of getting a new one later. websites can be unreliable and i feel its best to read some books to get a feel for yurself and then ask questions on stuff u didnt get on here. here are some good books;
* A Pocket Expert Guide Marine Fishes by Scott W. Michael
* A Pocket Experts Guide Marine Invertebrates by Ronald L. Shimek
* Aquarium Keeping and Rescue by Carl DelFavero
* Corals A Quick Reference Guide By Julian Sprung
* Invertebrates A Quick Reference Guide by Julian Sprung
* Natural Reef Aquariums by John H. Tullock
* The Compleate Book of the Marine Aquarium by Vincent B. Hargreaves
also there are a few other good ones i forgot though lol
