Hi all,

I've recently started out with a 30g tank, which I fully cycled with 5 zebra danios. I then added 2 male cherry barbs. Finally, last week I added 6 tiger barbs (3 normal, 3 green).

Now, all the fish get on great, no fighting to speak of, except for 1 of the green tiger barbs, which gets constantly harassed when it comes out from wherever it is hiding! I've even seen the cherry barbs having a go...

Is there anything that I can do, I feel sorry for him having to hide all day, and his fins are getting a bit ragged.

Thanks for your help, this is a great forum!

Danny

Your 30 gal may be a little small foot print wise for the fish you have. With tiger barbs the more you have is usually better. Do you have a hospital tank where you can treat the one with damaged fins?

I have a 20g with 2 female betta's in at the moment, do you think it would be alright in with them?

You could try that, but it probably be a bit nippy for them as soon as the barb is on the mend. How much of a size difference between all your barbs.

They're all about the same size, the green ones are slightly bigger but there is only a few millimeters difference. I've been out today and bought myself a small tank to use as a quarantine, so I'll see how it gets on in there for a few weeks.

as a newbie, who just added 5 tiger barbs to a community tank, everything went fine....One strange thing though, was with the cloan loaches.... They were following them around like they were part of the barb school.
