That tank looks too nice for me to believe you are new at this. Did you have any help? Do you test your water/cycle the tank or did you just throw 'em in with some tap water? What are some other things you want/need to know?

my tank

the owner of the fish i rescued helped me with the tank , but i went to the pet shop and bought some thing to put in the water so as the tap water would be safe , cant remember what it was as i lent the rest of it to the owner of the fish she just uses tap water ,thanks for the reply

you should go to the newbie section and read the part about cycling. The water in the tank needs to establish a colony of bacteria to process fish waste and most store bought "water conditioners" have nothing to do with this. What you did, though done in good intentions, is like getting a ferrari without knowing how to drive first. Fish need much more than water. You seem to have some common sense, getting "friends" for the tank was good. But now you need to find what else these guys need. Proper diet, clean water(with neccisary bacteria/filtration/heating). I would suguest going to the species profile and looking at the fishs' needs there, and use the forrum search to find topics that may save you from having to ask.

thank you

yes i will , the problem i had, was this fish was dying as he was put in a garrage and the heating wasnt enough for him ,so i took him in and went and bought a tank with the heating and filter with it didnt have much time to do any studying as he would of died ,but i will find out as much as i can about the fish now thats why i joined this site thank you for your help regards norma
