this is my newly built stand for my 20 gal convict tank.

i used 1x4 white pine.
the stand is 34" tall. It fits a tank with a footprint of
30.5" x 12.5"
the top is 10" tall, has a hinge lid and i mounted my light strip in the top.

I plan to use a Honey Pecon stain, and Gloss clear.

here are all my pics of the tanks that I built.

Wow! Nice stand scottie!! I like the others too!

Great work cichlid_guy! Looks better than the stuff my LFS sells :)

Do you put any foam padding of any kind between the tank and the stand when you build these?

Foam padding? no.

Thanks for the nice comments!
I spent a total of $50 to build the stand and top.
Alot cheaper then all the stands at any of my LFS and alot nicer!
most are that FAKE partical board.
I like building stands and other things out of wood.
and i'm getting better as i go.

I found a sweet cabnet i might try to copy.
I might build a new tank just for it. I'm thinking
8' x 2' x 2' = 240gal. pretty nice tank!
i built a 300gal but not to impressed by the looks.

here is the pic i found.

Wow - very nice work Scottie; just imagine how much money you have saved by building all those stands & hoods yourself :D

That last stand picture you posted looks nice - would be nice to built something like that for your big tank. Post tons of pics if you do it!
