well, my 2yo sister managed to pour something into my 38 gal tank that killed everything. i thought i managed to save a couple of them but they didn't make it. so this means an exhaustive cleaning and re-cycling... and then i guess i can go into a new direction with the tank. used to be malawi but now i don't know what i want to put in this tank. i'll admit i'm pretty partial to kribs but that might end up being my 29 gallon tank.
any suggestions for a new tank? it can be malawi again but it doesn't have to be... i think i'd prefer cichlids though, and it'd be nice if it was something that i could breed (other than cons). love to hear any ideas b/c i'm stumped right now
I'd go for brackish too. Gobies are really cool and if you can find them, you could have some Orange Chromides (small brackish cichlid).
Or, you could go with the Kribs or a Nanochromis species (also really pretty West African Cichlids similar to Kribs) or maybe some species of dwarf cichlids like apistogrammas, nanacaras or rams.
thanks a bunch for the suggestions, any more are definately welcome...
hmm... i'm not sure i would want to go quite as far as brackish, though i do like knight gobies and puffers. I thought monos and scats would get too big for my tank though?
I would give dwarf cichlids a try. They're peaceful, very atttractive and have great personalities. You could go with a planted tank with these guys too, won't do any damage to your aquascaping.
