NFL Thread

I have never played in a pay league before, but have decided to join one next year. Football only. Or maybe football and hockey. I like ESPN's fantasy site, i have 2 teams there that are 5-0. I am thinking of joining a pay league there next year. Ice where are your pay leagues???

*bump*
Ice i am doing some research because I'm thinking of joining a pay league (nfl only) next year. (yeah it's early, but I'm a little obsessive). Forewarned is forearmed. Anywho, I have never played in a pay league and would appreciate any insight you might have. What sites you think are best, what the costs are, ect. ect. Also, i live in Canada so i don't know if that matters as far as joining a league. Chanks alot.

IMO, yahoo has the best set up as far as FF leagues. The only downside to this is that you don't get "live scoring" unless you pay ($9.99) for the StatTracker.

I'm also in an ESPN FF League. It's okay, has live scoring but it's an awkward set up in getting players drafted, off the waivers, etc.

My ultimate pick goes to Yahoo Fantasy Football. It's awesome.

Yahoo sucks, everything about it except sometimes the articles are better.

I play all my pay leagues at Sportsline.com

A normal public league fee is usually like 10.00 or so. Even the free league is better then yahoos. Only thing I hate about free public leagues is that people quit if they don't like their team or when they know their team sucks. With a pay league its less likely the team will be abandoned.

If you guys want in a league that pays out winnings they have public leagues like that also that range in price from $15 a team win $50 to $500 team win $3500.

My league, which I commission with the league owner costs $25 to play and pays out

champ-$60 and free pass to next season
2nd place-$40 and free pass to next season
Most PTS scored-$20

which in our case would be baseball since its our next season but if you only play football then just add $25 to Champ and 2nd place.

We have guys from Australia and New Zealand in our league. We just pay the league owner through paypal.

I know we have 2 openings in basketball for this season.

I know this is one of the guys last year in football so we'll have an opening next year. We even use a practice squad that consists of college prospects and HS players signed to a college. Its kind of our minors.

Baseball I know we will be replacing one guy that left after the seasons end.

Our leagues might overwhelm a player that isn't really a fanatic about sports as its going to take a lot of looking around to stay competitive year in and out.

Our leagues are also keeper leagues. You get to keep most of the starting team and redraft the reserves. This way you get to build a team.

But back to the question sportsline.com is my favorite site.

Well, i need to find a league for next year. Problem is, i don't know alot about College football. I only pay attention to the NFL and CFL. Otherwise, i would buy the available team in your league. How did you find this league??? Also, i find ESPN's user interface is better than Sportsline, but Yahoo definately is the worst of all.

I don't even watch college football. I just research players from prospect lists and go from there.

The league actually started out as a public baseball league, everyone wanted to play together in football so we decided to go with the commissioner league. This way we could tweak the scoring and rosters. We've been playing together since 2001 but there was a huge fight between the league owner and a co commissioner. Half the league went one way the other half the other way.

This leagues been together since 2003.
