I want to use moon light in my mbuna tank. I tried the super bright blue led and found that they are too "directional" the light hardly spread. It looks like theatre projecters on 1 actor on the stage or more like a Pink Floyd concert.I would like the light to be spread evenly accros the tank. I thought of using a blacklite tube but I'm not sure of the effect on the fish. I dont want my fish to "glow in the dark" I just want to observe night life. Any suggestion?

Ive been researching this for a week or so, trying to figure out what will be best.
While looking through the site that ricester61 posted i found this site. http://thelebos.com/ They sell preassembled kits and diy kits. They sell these small plastic pieces that are supposed to increase the viewing angle of the led. Check it out in DIY parts section on that site. I think i might buy an unassembled kit sometime soon and see what goes from there.

Yeah! I like that, the small difusers, I guess I can even paint them a transparent blue to dim them even more. All I really want is a very soft glow .I want to have to give my eyes time to adjust to the darness before I can see. That is how dim I want it. Not to mention that my tank is behind my couch; directly accros from the t.v. I dont want to see a reflection during late night movie viewing. I already have the leds I give it a try . Thanx Sivic!!!
