Nipped Fins...

Hey, guys -

I just adopted a beat up Figure Eight from my LFS. Except for his nipped fins - he's in really healthy shape - good color, active, etc.

QUESTION: Will his fins eventually grow back?

BTW: I also got a Pig Nose :)
 
Use Melafix to fix the fins. I'm afraid living w/a target puffer, he'll have more than just nipped fins soon...

Yes they will grow back.
 
Thanks, Silver Surfer. He's got really nice markings, so he'll be perfect with his fins back in order.

Pufferpunk: Yeah. I was worried about having him in with the Target, so I watched him all night and working from home today to keep watching. The Target's tank is very densely planted - with alot of hiding places.

I was going to put him in with the Pig Nose, but I've heard that the PN is even more viscious than the Target. As soon as the PN was in it's tank - it attacked and ate 2 of the guppies that I had in the tank to help it cycle.

And the Figure 8 is pretty aggressive himself - it immediately attacked and ate one of the baby lobsters - which is what they're there for.

I just need to be watchful for about 3 weeks until the Figure 8 tank is ready.
 
You can instantly cycle his tank with Bio-Spira.
 
Cool, Pufferpunk! I had no idea there was such a thing. Is that the brand name? I can find it at any pet store of LFS? Thanks!
