Nitrate absorbers that do not need to be submersed...

I'm making an overhead trickle filter...basically, I'll have water spraying out of two PVC pipes like a showerhead. Looking for low light nitrate absorbers that can withstand having water sprayed on them 24/7. Also, the water will drain back into the tank almost immediately so there will be no standing water. Are there plants that can thrive in these conditions? :)
 
the larger duckweed would be great for this purpose... I think the smaller duckweed would end up all over your target tank. I also think frogbit, watersprite, water lettuce, bamboo, bacopa, and mangroves would all be appropriate. The mangroves would be hard to establish though.
