I added Macro algae to my tank and that has helped alot keeping my nitrates down..I just stuck it in my over flow with a little rock rubble.I also change out my filter every three days or less,depending on how dirty they look.My nitrates stay between 5 and 10 sometimes lower..Before I added the macro and changed the filters often my nitrates stayed at 20 sometimes slightly above.

HOw long has the new rock been in the tank? It might still be going through a mini cycle . What I would do is run your filter empty no floss etc. unless your are trying to remove some sort floating particles from your water then take it right out. You also might add about 30 more lbs of curred live rock that should solve all of your issues in addition to what everyone else has siad.
