Hi.
We do WC daily to lower the nitrate level right.
but what I tested my tap water for nitrate and got a reading of 20 ppm.
Is there another alternative way to lower the nitrate level, also I use Prime water conditioner and it says that it detoxifies/removes nitrate, is this true?

Much help appreciated
THANK YOU

nitrAte or nitrIte? I think prime detoxifies/removes nitrIte... one way to lower these levels is to have plants do it, this is relatively simple but it takes for ever, if you do this, I suggest hornwort, it grows like heck
(BTW, don't do it in your tank, do it in a separate tank/bucket)

My wife is a water quality lawyer at the EPA. She just told me that acceptable drinking water should be below 10 ppm Nitrates. You should contact your state environmental agency. You are drinking poison.

I too have tap water that reads over 20ppm from the tap. I contacted my towns water quality manager he assured me that the tests they have done don't read that high. What he did say was there are things added to the water, such as chlorine, that can cause your readings to be higher then they actually are. I would contact your local water department and let them know though.
