Nitrate Test Kit

Perhaps.

But if you simply think about it like adding ingredients to make some cookies(actually cookies have more ingredients), you simnply add these 4 things 2-3x a week and that's all there is to the nutrient part.

2-3x a week addfor a 20 gallon:

1/4 teaspoon KNO3
5mls of trace mix
KH2PO4, just about a rice grain's worth

After weekly 50% water change add dechlorinator and 1/4 teaspoon of K2SO4.

Trim and scrub first, then do the water change and add the nutrients back afterwards.

This keeps things from running out, while never letting things build up to high.

So nutrients really consist of only 4 things.

Keep the CO2 at 20-30ppm and keep the light on a timer etc and you'll do fine as long as you keep adding the nutrients and pruning.

Generally, most all trace mixes have iron.

SeaChem 's Flourish iron is nothing but iron etc, but Plantex, CMS, TMG, SeaChem's Flourish etc all are iron plus all the other traces. Iron is trace element itself.

Thanks, PBrain :D (Sorry, couldn't resist)

I ordered some Seachem Flourish Phosphorous and am going to try out your suggestion as soon as it arrives.

Thanks a bunch.
