there is the saga right there. The nitrites have been down in my tank for about a day now. I removed all of my fish the first night, since they started dying (lost three). How should I go about putting my fish back in the tank? Should I treat this like a newly cycled tank and add them slowly? or can I put them all back in?

thanks

No source at all. I was loosing fish, so I removed them all. Ammonia levels were at zero all weekend.

If there hasn't been a source of ammonia in there for more than 7 days, the nitrifying bacteria have likely starved and the tank will need to be re-cycled to re-establish them.

Thanks
