for the last 2 days i've noticed my nitrItes' readings are .25. Ammonia is 0. I did a 20% water change last night and didnt feed the fish, but this morning the readings are the same. What can I do?

no, im not cycling. this tank has been established for 2 months or more.

until last week everything was fine. ammonia 0, nitrItes 0. i dont know what happened.

Test the nitrite level of the new water you are adding.

I had a similar problem, it turned out my tap water contained nitrites and the water conditioner I was using didn't remove all of them.

well, i give them a variety of food. i did buy a new food and gave it to them... yeah, i think i've started 2 days ago.

i'll test my tap water as well
