i ran out of aquasafe and my ammonia raised a little (from 0 to .25)

so i need to do a PWC really quick here... my dad is working on my new room and my mom is at work... so i cant get to my LFS or wally world...

what do i do to get rid of the chemicals?!?!:help:

you need to do partial water changes of 50-60% every day once a day until the ammonia begins to go down.

i know... i dont have aquasafe to add to my city water... its full of chemicals

I think her problem is that she doesn't have water conditioner to treat the new water going into the tank.

You can let the water sit out for 24 hours, or run it for a few hours with an airstone in it to gas off the chlorine. Other than that, not really any other way to get the chlorine out without dechlor.

Why did your ammonia spike like that? Have you added fish or something lately?

if youre out of wheels for a while, a tactic that i recommend but ONLY in extremis.. fill your bucket or whatever with water, and stick a bubble stone in it for an hour or so.. that way youll at least get rid of the chlorine.

EDIT: Sploke beat me to it... :p

yeah, i added some fish:D thanks for the help... ill try the buble stone thingy;)

I never put waterconditioner in. I just let it sit out for like 24 hours, but we tested our water anyway and there arnt additives, so im not sure if itll work for you

i know! i had a half full bottle.. then i started my 20g and i did PWC alot and on my 10g...
then with my 20g kit, i got a free sample of aqua safe which i spilled:mad2: :help:
