Hey all,

I'm looking at buying a 200 gallon tank (72"x24"x24") and I'm pretty sure it is 1/2 thick walls. It has 2 braces right next to either end of the tank but no center brace in the middle. I'm wondering if I were to get this tank would I need to mount a center brace or will the walls be strong enough to hold back the flood?

Get us a pic of the top of the tank showing the bracing...

I have a 72" 125 gal tank that has no center brace.

Was the tank manufactured with oune and it is now broken? Or was there never one in the first place?

If it is broken then you should fab up something.

If there never was one to start with, you should be ok.

Sorry no pictures for the time being. I'm going to have a look at it on Friday(earliest I can get there) if its still there(first come first served deal). Good to know that there are other tanks manufactured without bracing. I'll post some pictures if the deal goes through.

I have a 135 tank without a brace... makes me entirely paranoid.... but I guess its okay...

My 6' 110 gal was manufactured with no bracing. If it was made that way from the manufacturer then it is fine (they made the glass thick enough) if it used to have a brace and now doesn't one will have to be made for it.
