My only question for graphic design is....what are YOU doing to help??? You lecture that it starts with us, but what are you doing??? Don't make the assumption that EVERYONE just sits around and does nothing to give back....that isn't a fair assesment.
I volunteer on a daily basis to give back to our community. I am a classroom volunteer for our public school system, and I help run a program for poor/ unwed mothers with their newborns by collecting supplies for new babies and helping them find the resources to get help. I spend hours a day sewing blankets too to wrap these babies in and several more hours a day on the phone just trying to find the supplies and help that is needed. My husband is a volunteer firefighter. He does not get paid but puts his very life on the line almost daily and its all to give back to the community. We have taught our children the value of "giving" and hope that there will be two more adults in the world some day who realize that to make a difference it starts with you. I ask again....what do YOU do?
I must agree that things like this are disgusting. No petaphile or rapist can ever be rehabbed as far as I'm concerned, that impusle will always be there in the back of their mind. And as was said before me, general population in prison usually takes good care of them, if they don't isolate them.
And to the above poster, I'd like to say thankyou for being so kind hearted. People like yu remind me that is still a ray of hope in our crazy world these days. It makes me want to do more for those in need, like giving things like clothes, toys, etc. to the poor, and work to help homeless animals and what not.
Another thing, while a political argument got started on this thread it drew away from what really matters here. There are some horrible things going on in what we humans like to call civilization that we all work to correct, whether in a small or large way. Even though I myself have strong opinions on the political situation in ths country, I can't help but think sometimes it is more like a three-ring-circus. And even though some people expressed strong opposite opinions than me, I can't help but relate in having such strong belief in what I hold to be true or not. I'd honestly rather sit down and have a civil conversation with someone than argue. I wish we could just forget all the political boundaries and labels, and for once just look at eachother as human beings with different opinions. It'd be nice if in our country's system could put more effort forth to try and make things 50/50 for each party. Just my 2 cents.~Angela
