Good morning everyone. I've been doing some searching online trying to find more fish to add to my 55 gallon tank. And I'm still stumped. Currently it houses 2 silver dollars, 3 kuli loaches, 2 neons, and 6 buenos aires tetras.

I do want to add more neons and I should add a few more silver dollars since they do like to school. Beyond that I'm at a loss as to what else I can add. Any ideas? Maybe something that isn't silver:)

Thanks

nens need more schooling help then silver dollars do but try maybe a few silver sharks lol just kidding maybe try

tetras
kribs
any peaceful community fish would go good but you have to watch out for fish eating other fish;)

Definately add a few more neons to really take advantage of how nice they are. But what about some dwarf gouramis. They are a fun fish to watch and would be very diferent looking than the other fish you currently have. Flame or Honey gouramis make a nice addition.

You want some more schooling fish - try either Zebra Danios if you want more active, and Harlequin Rasboras if you want more peaceful.
If you want more of a good showpiece, loner fish, one of my favorite is either an Angelfish or a nice Red Velvet Male Swordtail. If you get more than one of either, aggression can be a problem in a smaller tank, but they do great alone.

If you have some plants in there, consider a male betta. he can be a beautiful single specimen. Swims around some. hangs around in plants some. Decent eater, although mine is not too fond of flake food. Almost any color you want!

Rainbows--wide variety of fish that won't get huge, and seem to do well in smaller groups.

How about Platies?
Very colorful, peaceful, eats anything, and stays small. They come in many different colors, orange, red, green, etc. Just 2 or 3 of them adds color to any tank. Plus, they breed easily.

Get a Red Bellied Pacu. I have had one for over a year and a half, in a 50 gallon tank. They get pretty big, but are a neat fish to have in my tank. They eat EVERYTHING! Spiders, June bugs, Cockroaches, praying mantises. I haven't found anything he won't eat yet. The only drawback is he tends to eat almost everything smaller that him. But what the hell. Striped danio's are only $.60 each. Never knew they could swim so fast!
