No trick or treaters

we never do.

I was appalled as well by the 8 year olds in "sexy" costumes. What can you do other then not let that be your kid, lol

My whole street was blocked off last night and all the kids from town went to our street. I wasn't there the whole time but my parents ran out of candy and had to go out and buy more. But we ended up buying too much candy.

And yes, girls at my school we're dressing up as superwoman and her cleavage was showing.

i was personally surprised and relieved to not see boat loads of little girls dressed up as little sluts. i can't say that offers much hope for next year though considering it was raining and it was pretty much a ghost town.

teenagers and adults alike ran to their cars and scurried home basically a 1/2 hour after the first knock on the door. we only did like 2 1/2 streets but when i forced my kids (almost kicking and screaming) to go home their was noone left on the streets. my kids are 2 and 5 and were the last kids out in the neighborhood.

the funny thing to me was every door we knocked on people looked at us like we had 2 heads. i mean cummon guys, it was halloween. when i was young halloween was a job like a postmans job. if you had an excuse for not taking your kids out you were considered almost neglectful. now it's almost 70 degrees and raining and people run like their going to melt without consideration to what their kids will miss out on. i mean did these people really think i was going to take my daughters first chance at tricker treating on her own 2 feet from her. heck no... she was too excited... and it wasn't cold out... there's no excuse for the laziness and ignorance imo.

then again i think i'm the only parent in the neighborhood that put up a woodbridge playset in my yard. don't get me wrong there's about 4 or 5 granparents in my neighborhood that have comparable playsets but no parents that i know of. the parents seem to focus on their own expensive toys. i mean i haven't even dressed up to look good since i found out we were pregnant with my first... but my son only wears old navy school uniforms this year. i may have taken advantage of a sale but he looks sharp when he leaves the house. me, i look like a raggity bum when i drop him off at the bus stop. that's the way it should be imo... kids come first.

anyway...

This is the first halloween in 10 years I have lived on a well lit street with plenty of neighbors. My wife and I went to our churches harvest festival, left there at 8:00 and were home 5 minutes later. There were still kids out all over, but not one has wandered down our street :( I was a little let down.

They were out after 8...What's the scheduled trick or treat times? or do you have 'em? Around here (NE OH) it's usually 6-8 but I could see 7-9 in Cali. A few places have it the 30th, and 1 or 2 do it on the nearest Saturday afternoon in the daylight.

We live on a busy 35mph secondary street. There are hundreds of houses in the neighborhood across the street. Most kids won't bother to cross the street for the 30% of houses on this side that DO give out candy. We got the next door kid and 2 doors down kid :)

We had rain on and off for most of the night. We got like 3 maybe 4 groups (I don't remember). We handed out really big hand fulls of candy since we weren't getting that many kids.

we had kids from 6 to 8ish then it started to rain so we decided to shut down and go out for a bit. we did have a lot of kids those couple of hours though, most not from our neighborhood however.
i agree with the slutty costumes getting worse and worse. i went to a halloween party last weekend and had to go get a costume and had the hardest time finding something that covered my butt cheeks. it was ridiculous! i finally ended up making my own funky little concoction because my husband would not have appreciated me going anywhere dressed like that! i am 23 so my friends all had those naughty little costumes, i just don't get it. half the time the girls wearing the costumes seriously shouldn't be anyway lol.

We live in a generally small town. Usually we can expect about 100 kids. This year we had 5. The weather was fine, a bit chilly, but what is this world coming to?
